240px-boeing-logo_svg.pngThe corporate portal that I am going to describe is Boeing Company.

The reason I chose the Boeing Company is that Boeing is a major aerospace and defense corporation, originally founded by William E. Boeing. Its international headquarters is in Chicago, Illinois, USA. Boeing is the largest global aircraft manufacturer by revenue, the largest by orders and deliveries, and the second-largest aerospace and defense contractor in the world.

Boeing has long been one of the world’s largest civil aircraft companies. In 2006, it took 55% of global commercial aircraft orders for the first time since 2000. It is the largest exporter in the United States. Boeing’s stock is a component of the Dow Jones Industrial Average.

There are many companies that are collaborate with Boeing and one of them are Exostar which was created to leverage the power of the internet technologies and network-centric models to enable secure, efficient collaboration across enterprise domains.

Boeing collaborate with Exostar to provide software to supportits supply chain coordination challenges. The Exostar supply chain management solution enables all suppliers access to real-time demand, supply, and logistics information so that crucial components and systems arrive at Boeing’s production facilities just in time for assembly over a 3- day period. The Exostar solution includes the following functionalities: planning and scheduling; order placement and tracking purchase order changes; exchanging shipping information; managing inventory consumption across suppliers; managing returns; and providing a consolidated view of all activities in the manufacturing process. Business process exceptions can also be monitored across partners, allowing for informed evaluationof the impacts of these exceptions to take place across affected parties.

Besides that, Boeing also collaborate with Dreamliner and IBM. For more information on these, you may refer to the text book (pg 305,306) or wikipedia.com

In a blink of an eye, semester 3 is going to an end although it lasted for 7 weeks. Next week we will have our finals. Wednesday is Electronic Commerce and Thursday is Introduction to Investment. I have to start preparing for my finals now asap since I didn’t do well in my mid-term for both subjects. About investment paper I didn’t really need to worry but for e-commerce, i feel kind a little worry since this is going to be my first time taking an open book exam. There will be lots of revision and 1 more assignment of investment to be done.It going to be a rough and tiring week ……
